about Us
We met with the same heartfelt concern.

Together we can is a small development project with a big impact. Rosak Biacuane and Irene Iselin lead the project and are happy about every hardship that can be alleviated and about every concrete help that gives hope for a future.
I am
Rosak Biacuane.
I am Rosak Biacuane. I was born in 1994 in Maputo, Mozambique. I don't know my parents. I lived on the streets as a child and was then taken in by Iris Global Zimpeto. I went to school there.
I work in Iris Global Zimpeto with a group of boys. I look after the international guests and am a driver.

I am
Irene Iselin.
I was born in 1968 into a large family together with a twin brother.
Even as a child, I was interested in children who had a difficult life because of my own story. I looked after my severely disabled cousin and had weekly placements as a nanny. I was interested in the outsiders, the sad ones and the gypsies who were not wanted anywhere. After a year in French-speaking Switzerland and an internship, I trained as a preschool teacher in a very difficult environment and with children from families with addiction and mental illness.
After my training, I switched to working with physically and cognitively disabled young people who were just starting their first time after school. Then I was drawn back to working with small children with the same disabilities. It was always important to me to see the child above all else and not their diagnosis. To get to know the different personalities and to support them in their next developmental steps. During this time, I continued my education intensively and accompanied learners. Then I decided to study at the University of Freiburg. I chose social anthropology and sociology with the aim of working in development cooperation. After almost 20 years in the field of social education, I switched to a primary school to support a child with autism spectrum syndrome in the regular class. This led to me completing teacher training and a master's degree in special education.
I wrote my research paper for my Master's in Social Anthropology about the Roma in Bulgaria. For my Master's in Special Education, I did action research in South Africa. We started a school for children with severe cognitive and physical disabilities. These two intensive pieces of work prepared me well for the project.
Now is the time for me to start my own project and use my knowledge and skills to support other people in their development. I adhere to the human dignity concept. It is important to me to approach the person in front of me with love and to invest myself in their development needs. I want to see the individual in need and meet him/her where he/she is.
"Whatever you do to one of the least of these, you do to me." (Matthew 25:40)
that's how it came about ...
When I visited Iris Global in Zimpeto in the summer of 2023, I met Rosak because he was working with the guests and was a driver. I could pay in shops with my bank card but not withdraw cash. This led to Rosak driving me to many ATMs in Maputo to try out. On these trips we started talking and discovered that we had the same vision. We both wanted to work with street children and the poorest people. It was important to both of us to give hope through education. So we joined forces and started our project in January 2024. We decided on Goba, a very poor area 45 minutes from Maputo, and found the first seven children there who wanted to go to school.
